Body Work
Getting it on
July 2005
One small trip to Westfield with Jeff Oakley and I now have all the body work is orange... This is starting to get really exciting....

Although to get to this stage was a learning curve. This is the bit everyone will see and judge your westfield on... *** TOP TIP *** take as long as you need... Before I finally rivetted the body to the chassis it took me 2 weeks to be fully happy with the fit... One area I knew I wanted to pay particular attention to was the rear arches. Having seen many Westfield now, I did not like the rear arch fitting with the back of the arch not sitting central.

After a lot of measurements I began with the rear allignment. Taking a section of box steel and attaching it to the section of box which the manual says to attach the body. As I was not going to attach a screen or weather gear this was not going to cause a problem.
I also used a lot of masking tape to get the body the way that I wanted it...

As you can see the rear arches are a much neater fit and in later months these will look better when the car is on the ground
