Pulley and water pump
Back to the engine! 27th JAN 2005
Next thing that I worked on was the engine. Before I could fit the NEW sump I need to take a few more things off the engine. First to come off was the crank shaft pulley. This would enable me to get at the real objective, the water pump.
This needs to be reaced with an Escort 1.8l water pump which flows the other way to the standard one that is all ready onboard.
<< Here you have the water pump removed, which will shortly be going Ebay along with other bits that are removed.
The crankshaft pulley retaining bolt was a little harder to remove and would only move after a 17mm rachet head was locked onto it. Ford supplied another for a few pence...
>> Tough nut This little sucka took me ages to get off, final a 17mm socket jammed on freed it. Then a trip to the local ford dealers bought me a replacment.

>> Pump my ride With this off I can replace with the Escort 1800cc one which flow the other way.
